I’ve been in my new shop for 3 weeks. Today one of my colleagues was like, hey I’m thinking about buying a new car!

Naturally, I’m interested so I ask what type. “ A Range Rover Evoque”

“Ok...those are nice” I said.

And then? “And I’m thinking of getting it wrapped matte black”

Like... If it were a family member or friend, I’d laugh in their face

I would probably laugh too.

People interpret “car enthusiast” so differently when they are not one. Usually the thought process goes, “what do I need to do with this car and what part of it can I ruin for style and clout?” In this case, all of it.

I don’t think it works on the Evoque, but there’s a Dodge Charger in my area with a black matte wrap and I don’t hate it. At this point, I’m just happy to see a MOPAR product without the “ yellow underbite.”

The Evoque still...erm...evokes the Freelander to me. So trying to make it all gangsta just feels kind of weird. I know Rangies have evolved into more fashion accessories in recent generations, but still.

I mean.... it looks pretty good... in a way.  I also love the Evoque haha.  Matte white would be epic too.

That actually looks really tough. As long as they do the wheels too, it will be solid. But I dd an evoque for a while. And it never gave me any problems, super reliable and surprisingly quick.
